Bricc

Building Resilient and Inclusive Communities through Creativity

BRICC is a federally funded creative wellbeing program supporting young people aged 12–18 to build confidence, connection and a sense of belonging through structured street art and collaborative mural projects.

The program provides safe, supported creative environments for young people who may be at risk of disengagement, offering practical skill development alongside meaningful opportunities for participation and positive community contribution.

Program Focus

BRICC is delivered as a multi-week creative program combining skill development workshops with the design and creation of a collaborative public mural.

Programs are delivered in partnership with schools, councils and community organisations, with each project shaped by the participants and the local community.

The program includes:

  • Skill-building workshops
  • Collaborative design processes
  • Mentored mural creation
  • Reflection and celebration components

Participants contribute to the creation of a public artwork, strengthening pride of place and recognition as active, valued members of their community.

Current BRICC Programs

In 2026, UP&UP is delivering BRICC programs across Raymond Terrace, Kurri Kurri and Lemon Tree Passage.

Programs are being delivered in:

• Raymond Terrace
• Kurri Kurri
• Lemon Tree Passage

As these projects are completed, this page will showcase the murals and stories from each community.

BRICC is funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services through the Strong and Resilient Communities – Inclusive Communities program.

Why BRICC Matters

Many young people face limited opportunities to express themselves, connect with peers and feel a strong sense of belonging.

BRICC creates structured creative pathways that support:
